This page is designed to outline a typical day at Kowhai and is to be used as a guide only.
On days unsuitable for riding we can arrange an alternative activity such as sightseeing or shopping etc, while long stay guests may prefer just to rest. We try to keep the schedule flexible to suit.
8:30am breakfast in the homestead.
9:30am with guide: catching horse, grooming, saddling etc.
10:00am morning tea break.
10:15am start the morning lesson. (either basic, dressage, jumping etc)
12:30pm finish morning lesson.
12:35pm feed horse lunch, untack etc.
1:00pm lunch in the homestead.
2:00pm saddle up and start afternoon trek or lesson.
4:00pm finish afternoon ride.
4:10pm untack, groom and clean saddle, bridle etc and put out horse.
7:00pm dinner in the homestead.
