These weekends are for
adult riders and are suitable for all levels from complete
beginners to competition riders. Instruction from basics to Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country for experienced riders. There are usually 3 groups for riding so there is a beginner group, middle group and experienced group. The weekend includes shared dorm
accommodation, you need a sleeping bag or bedding etc, all meals (excluding dinner on the
night of arrival) horse riding* both morning and afternoon with a mix of group
lessons and guided farm trekking all for $180.00. Riders enjoy learning everything
from the correct way to catch a horse, to grooming, saddling, bridling,
mounting and basic control of the horse to Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross
Country for experienced riders. We usually ride both morning and
afternoon for around 2 hours with lessons and guided farm trekking daily. Private rooms are available for an extra $45 night or there are many local B&Bs we can recommend. Note: Shuttle from Straven Rd in Christchurch available on some weekends for $20 return (minimum 3 people)
The time of arrival is 7:45pm Friday evening or 9:00am Saturday morning. Adult weekends cost $180.00 and must be pre-paid and are not refundable.
Courses run wet or fine and would only be cancelled in extreme conditions for safety.
* Horse riding is only
available subject to fine weather and safe operating conditions - We reserve
the right to cancel any horse riding on days where circumstances beyond our
control would affect the safety of horses and riders, there is no reduction in
